OMG & Regarding Summaries
In 48 hours we have exploded! There's been just shy of 150 stories, over 100 members, and the number of reviews has doubled! (We're thrilled with those of you who have reviewed -- the reviewers keep us successful!)
However, there are a few things to note--
In the future there will be a drop-down menu for each author to specify whether a fic requires spoiler knowledge or familiarity with a specific game. Until that time, however, please try to tag your summaries with [Requires familiarity for KH2] or [Spoilers for KH:CoM].
Please do NOT USE pairing mushes in your summaries. If you like to call it "Akuroku" or "SoRiKai" more power to you, but on your summary, please label it Axel/Roxas or Sora/Riku/Kairi for clarity!
Also please remember: Pairings are both important to identify and not the entirety of your fic. "Sora/Riku" is not a summary, it's a statement. Your fic is more than a single stillshot, action happens. Tell us what the action is. Also please note that IF you put down "Sora/Riku" in the summary, and you actually only meant that Sora and Riku are interacting together as friends and are not a couple, you will chase away potential readers who don't like that couple, but might be interested in seeing the characters interact!
Don't talk about yourself in the summary of your fic. You are the writer, not the fic. "I'm not good at summaries" and "This idea came to me while I was walking home from school the other day" are NOT summaries. They should not BE in your summary. They should be in your author's note or not present at all. Maybe you could ask a beta-reader (you can hook up with one on the site!) how to help you with a summary if you don't know.
Most importantly: NO spoilers or sexual/excessively violent descriptions in summaries!
We will shortly be contacting people whose summaries should be fixed, although we intend to be lenient on spoiler warnings.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, and thanks to all of you for giving us a huge start!

Two Layouts to Choose From
The "Deep Dive" layout (AKA, Isn't Roxas Pretty) is now ready to go, which gives viewers two skins to choose from.
KHFA is equally browseable in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Konqueror (although you'll need to turn on GIF support), and Safari. (IEMac, however, is probably a bit messy, since IE conditional comments don't work for it. :\)
Are you viewing KHFA with a different browser, like AOL-Netscape? Does it look spiffy/terrible? Drop us a line to let us know! (But if there are problems, some screenshots would be much appreciated.)

Pairings and Categorizations
Please remember, everyone -- stories that are both Slash and Het go into Mixed Fiction! Sadly, we're not like those silly commercials about getting your peanut butter in my chocolate; no one really wants to find Slash stories under Het, or vice versa!
I've done my best to clarify this, and some other issues concerning pairingfic, in this entry to KHFA Information. Please take a look before you post!

Things to Consider
Well, the project is ready to launch. There are a couple of important things that need to be acknowledged by everyone right off the bat. These won't surprise many people, but we want to make sure they're totally known for the first little while.
Read the submission rules.
You'll see them every time you upload a story, but you should read them through at least the first time you do. There are some very important things in here -- and if Libek or I discover fics not following those rules, action will be taken.
Mark your spoilers.
Please, this is very important. Follow the models of fics already uploaded: the FIRST thing in your summary should be a familiarity level -- telling you which games you should be familiar with to read the story. In future updates to the KHFA, this will be available in a drop-down menu. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Don't forget to review!
The site is wonderful as it is, but what really makes it shine is the ability to provide feedback. We encourage authors to stress what kind of feedback they want and how much they want in their author's note. But if you upload a dozen fics, don't forget -- there are a dozen other fics on the site that YOU could read. If you comment, comments will come to your fics!
Upload and enjoy!
